I am often asked, “what is a Social Entrepreneur?” ” Is it yet another social media person seeking out a unique job title?”
The quick answer is no, although social media is a valuable tool for the social entrepreneur. In a nutshell, a social entrepreneur identifies a problem or a need in the society, and uses his/her business skills to seek out a solution to that problem or need. What makes a social entrepreneur unique in this evolving marketplace is that social responsibility is a growing demand on business of all shape and size.
A corporate social entrepreneur (CSE) is defined as”an employee of the firm who operates in a socially entrepreneurial manner; identifying opportunities for and/ or championing socially responsible activity; in addition to helping the firm achieve its business targets. (source: wikipedia)
